Changes at my house

Life is wonderful. Stephanie had Savannah on Aug 26. She had asked me to go to the doctor with her that morning in case Dave had to leave to go to work. So of course being her mom I said yes. When we got there her blood pressure was really high so the nurse wanted her to lay on her left side and told her that she would probably be having the baby that day. Then the nurse practitioner came in and took it again it was still high so she said that we would be going to the hospital. The doctor wanted to check her before she left. So we waited for him to come in and do that. Then we went to the hospital. It was a long day. There was lots of babies born that day so we had to wait for a little bit for Stephanie's room to be cleaned. They finally got the room cleaned and we went in and Steph got hooked up to all the monitors. It was really neat to listen to Miss Savannah heart beat. The doctor finally broke her water about 2:30. This really started her labor. I had to go pick up the kids so I missed most of this part of her labor. When I got back they were giving her an epidural. Then she started progressing to fast so the slowed her contractions down. At about 9:45 they decided that is was time for Steph to start pushing so of course the grandmas and grandpa went out in the waiting room. It seemed like we were there for hours but we really weren't. It was pretty awesome when Dave called and said that Savannah was here and that we could come back in the room. The first time I saw her I was so in love with that beautiful baby.

Steph and Savannah came over and watched the Utah and Pittsburgh football game with us. When she got ready to leave she gave Savannah to Grandpa to kiss good bye and grandpa told Steph that she could go home now. I was really quick to point out that I was not getting up with Savannah in the middle of the night so he would have to. He quickly gave Savannah to Steph and told her she could come and stay when she was a little bit bigger.

It is so wonderful to be able to see how much Dave and Steph love Savannah. They are doing really great as parents. Dave is more than willing to help out however he can. I am glad that they were able to accomplish the goal of being parents.
