General Young Women meeting

Last night I had the great opportunity to go downtown to the General Young Women's meeting with Sharen, Renita, and Kara. It was a great opportunity to see the young women's leaders speak to us. They were very positive and gave us wonderful advice.
Sister Didd talked about the theme in Joshua 1:9. She also went through this first chapter and told us how this chapter will help us stay on the straight and narrow path. The four things that she talked about were 1. The Lord is always with us. He will always answer our prayers but we need to be patient. 2. Keep all of his commandments. 3. Read and study the scriptures. They are important and will help stay on the right path. 4. We need to make a commitment to listen and obey what the prophet says. If we do as he asks we will be given many blessings.
Sister Cook told us that we need to stay on the path and there were 3 things to help us, 1. strong testimony 2. seek the help of others, and 3. live worthy of the Holy Ghost.
Sister Dalton told us that we need to be virtuous and that we are not alone. She also told us that if we do not make it to the temple that Satan wins. Lets make him unhappy and strive to live the gospel.
Then President Uchtdorf talked about our fairy tale life. It begins with once upon a time, we then have trials and tribulations and then in the here after were get the "Happily Ever After". That is what I am striving to get.
I am really glad that I could go and get his advice. I think that sometimes I get really discouraged and don't think enough about how well I am doing. I am grateful that the Lord planned ahead and gave us leaders to help us know what to do to get our "Happily Ever After".
After the broadcast we took the girls and went to Red Robin for dinner. It was so fun to see the girls having a good time. They were laughing and being silly but lots of fun. I love spending time with my children and am thankful that I have the gospel to help me know how to raise them. Life is awesome.
